WATER, WATER, & MORE WATER
I know you may hate to hear it but water is the #1 key to the success of healthy skin. Not only does water help your skin but also your entire body. Water makes up 70% of the human body so you can see why it is such an important aspect of your life. You should drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your skin clear and bright. Aim for six glasses a day and avoid soda, which is full of sugar.
FRESH AND FRUITY
Vegetables are never anyone’s favorite food, but you should try to eat at least five portions of fresh fruits and vegetables every day. Skin-friendly veggies and fruits include carrots, apricots, broccoli, strawberries, watercress, and oranges. They also benefit the rest of you body too!
Experts haven’t found any evidence to link eating chocolate with having problematic skin, so you can indulge occasionally.
THE PERFECT MEAL OF THE DAY
Its important that you never skip a meal – a regular, healthy diet can work wonders on your skin and give you loads of energy!
- BREAKFAST. Start with a fresh glass of juice, and whole-grain cereal with sliced bananas or strawberries and milk, followed by toast and honey.
- LUNCH. Make a cheese and ham sandwich on whole wheat bread with a side salad followed by yogurt and a bowl of fruit.
- DINNER. Go for a grilled chicken and baked potato with fresh vegetables, followed by fresh fruit salad with yogurt and nuts.
- SNACKS. If you are feeling a little cranky and hungry between meals you should try eating fruit, nuts, vegetable sticks, slice of whole-grain toast, crackers, or yogurt.
