There's no punching a clock or calling H.R. because my paycheck is short! 2. - I'm following my dreams of being an entrepreneur. 2. - Job security - I'm not going to fire myself! As long as my business is doing good, I'm doing good.

Permalink Reply by D' Accessory Place on April 9, 2012 at 9:01am Like the other ladies said, taking on the responsibility of being your own boss. It was a risk worth taking in my opinion. Being able to grow a business from the ground has been so rewarding. I'm also inspired by other bosses.

Permalink Reply by Tamara Wyatt on April 10, 2012 at 1:08pm I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit and I wanted to finally seize that passion in me. I have worked for a marketing firm for the past 6 years and my boss was and remains such a huge mentor in my life. He showed me how to be a BOSS, just by being a great one himself. And hence my firm...BOSS BRANDS was born. Good luck to all my fellow Boss Chicks!

Permalink Reply by PhatPhat on April 10, 2012 at 4:03pm There are so many reasons to want to run your own business. For me, I have always worked and had some type of side job of my own for as long as I can remember. But after working in the social service field for several years and getting no satisfaction, being used and abused by company shenanigans, I decided it was time to let it all go and answer only to myself! I now have two businesses, one ongoing and one seasonal. The rewards of working for myself and employing others is one of the best feelings in the world. I set my own hours, have time for me, and have the freedom to enjoy my life in the way I see fit. Now I pretty much work when I WANT TO Everyday I am able to thank God for giving me the insight, courage and determination to follow my own dreams.

Permalink Reply by Bridget Body on April 15, 2012 at 9:35pm I decided to start my own business because I want to be the architect of my future, not my supervisor or his supervisor. I want to break out of the boundaries that exist when you work for someone else. Also I want to set a good example for my daughter.

Permalink Reply by QueenoftheNileHair on April 18, 2012 at 6:04pm I decided to become my own boss when I found out I had something, or someONE, rather, to live for! God blessed me with a baby girl, and I have to make ends meet for her! On top of that, there's nothing like living and basking in your own success. To look at all your work and say "Wow! I did that!" is the BEST feeling in the world!
