Good Morning Ladies!!!  Hope ALL is well :)

Just wanted to reach out to you for a little advice and/or direction.  I know that this isn't a complex issue but I love feedback before making a decision :)

I've been in business for a while and I'm at a place where I am looking to establish two things now.  My domain name & my own logo.  I began my research but I'm not sure if GoDaddy is my best option.

Thus, my questions are, first, what domain name registrant would you use or recommend to others other than GoDaddy, and, what is a "fair" monthly fee without web host involvement?

Secondly, what should I expect from the logo-process, online-wise who did you use if not someone from inside your community/city, and what's a fair price for this as well?

Hope I'm not asking too much LOL

Thanks a bunch Ladies!  You can take a look @ my web page ( http://promisedesigns.storenvy.com ) to view it w/o the logo or domain name.....tell me what you think.  Sometimes, it's time-consuming b/c it's such a long name.  It's time to narrow it down!!!

Enjoy your day!

Takeya

My 1st question is did you register the name with your state?  That is the only way to really have any rights to the name and then following that getting your tax id from the IRS so that the IRS has record of the name as well.  GoDaddy is cool if you are checking for a web address but other than that you aren't going to get much info.

I personally use GoDaddy and love it because of the customer service.  To break down monthly I personally pay about $7 for my hosting but I host 3 websites and 2 blogs so you may be able to go lower on the space which could put you around $3/4 a month.

I hope this helps!

Thanks LaKeisha!  Your response was helpful.

I am registered with the IRS but the state, not yet.  I know....that's a little backwards. Glad it's an easy fix though :)

So I guess GoDaddy is good, but not what I "need" per se.  But at least through what you've shared, I have an idea of its' strengths for future reference.

I would not recommend go daddy. Often another company actually has the rights to your domain name. I do this for my clients and also do seo as well. An aged domain is best if you want to be up in your niche on the first page if not don't even bother with a website. The monthly fee depends on what they are doing. I use hostgator for my clients and you get your own c-panel. What type of site  do you want? What is your niche ? All these questions help when picking a domain name. Exact match can help you rank faster, ex, lawer+ city + expertise. As far as logo goes it depends on the complexity of design and therefore has a wide price range. An e-commerce site takes longer to set up and thus is more expensive and the monthly fee will be higher as well. You can email me for more information if you want carlsonden@gmail.com or bdconsultingsolutions.com@gmail.com.

Thank you Denise!  Email sent :)
