2. Make sure to tell you children not to spend all their money in one place.

For example, if it's their birthday and someone gave them $25. Instead of trying too figure out what they could buy for the $25... Take $10 of that money and save and spend the remainder...

$10 may not seem like much but if (5) people each gave your son/daughter $25 for their birthday, that equates to $125.00 well if they save $10 from each person... that's still $50 for a "rainy day."

DAILY TIP: Moms are on the front lines of doling out allowances and basically shaping their children's money habits.

These skills that they are developing (whether we are aware of it or not) will be lifelong skills that will serve your children well.

Moms:

1.) we have to know the difference between needs and wants....

I have a friend who told me that at times it was difficult to tell the two situations apart until this year when her daught, Kayla who will be in second grade told her, "I need a cellphone!"...<---- CLEARLY a want....not a need.

Your very first step is to access where you are. go to annualcreditreport.com and get a free copy of your credit report from ALL three bureaus so that you are aware of what is currently being reported.

Daily Tip: To build good credit, you have to know your history, so get your reports once a year (at least) at Annualcreditreport.com. Here you’re entitled to one FREE report each year (credit score not included).

Lastly: 10. Be prepared to change to an even simpler lifestyle if need be. You need to be prepared to make drastic changes in your lifestyle to simplify it even more if need be and be absolutely positively okay with doing so. Remember, you canalways gather material possessions again. If you have a house, lose it... As long as God blesses you to wake up each and everyday you can work towards the goal of home ownership again.

 

You have to do what you have to do so that you remain mentally and emotionally healthy so that you can achieve any and all goals that you set out to reach.
