Nicki Minaj on not performing after being disrespected by Summer Jam concert host: 

This taught me to value myself. I'm a Boss. That's just like if you're walking into a board room.. and you're the only woman in there.. and you hear men making fun of you and insulting you.. you're not gonna walk in to that room..you're gonna say, you know what.. I've put in my work just like everybody here.. and until u can respect that I'm not walking in and sitting in that room.. I'm not performing in a place where people don't respect me.

She goes on to say that because she did not perform [a set that included several surprise guests including Foxy Brown, Lauryn Hill and Beenie Man] she wants to make it up to her fans and will be putting on a free concert very soon.
