The world knows her as the woman who's eccentric designs took the fashion world by storm in 2006 with a stiletto and sneaker collection that would later expand into the accessory line that solidified her name in the world of fashionistas.
Six years have passed and the Melody Ehsani reign just won't stop.
As much as women love to rock an Ehsani design, few people realize that Melody took a huge risk and abruptly changed the course of her life to bring us the designs that made her a staple in the fashion world.
Before creating her first collection, Melody was well on her way to a career as a lawyer. Against the advice of her family and with no experience in product design, she dropped out of law school to follow her dream. Needless to say -it worked...and we've gathered 5 lessons we can all learn from life in her own words.
"Basically it all started with me just trying to find my passion and initially I thought my passion was in Law. I was an intern at law firms. I interned at Capital Hill. After a couple of years, I just realized that there was something missing. A common thread
through my entire life has been that I really had an affinity towards products. I would always look at things and think, “How could I make this better?”
"I was going to law school and I dropped out because I knew I wanted to do design. I hooked up with a good friend of mine who taught me the ropes. He hooked me up with an internship at a sneaker company, Creative Recreations. After working at Creative Recreations, I was really inspired to create a stiletto line. At first I would sketch all of my designs, but I got really frustrated with the whole manufacturing process so I just got up and I went to Hong Kong. I spent 3 months in Hong Kong finding a manufacturer and after I created my first line, I came back to California and the line just exploded."

Comment by Chrissy Jones on August 15, 2012 at 10:59am I love her #1 lesson. At 43 I am on my journey towards opening an online women's accessories store. The most difficult part for me right now is working a job that I despise but realize that I have work with it for now. I look forward to making a success of my store.
