Ashanti Paid $20K By Atlantic City High School For Speak & Greet

The men in the background must be thinking ‘DAAYUM!’

A check must be hard to come by for Ashanti these days. Is Nelly not sharing the wealth? Ashanti appeared in her usual clubbin’ attire at Atlantic City High School on June 1st  to speak to students, for which she was paid a whopping( in school budget terms) $20,000. I’m appalled that she would take such an enormous sum money from a public school. Especially in a time when so many schools are struggling financially. And the Mayor of Atlantic City, Lorenzo Langford, is her godfather.

Now I’m not saying the she didn’t have something positive to contribute and share with the students. She met one on one with some students, led some assemblies and interviewed for the schools radio station. I’m sure the kids benefited from her words of encouragement. The school’s Superintendent said the money was already allocated for instructional improvements. All I’m saying is that she didn’t have to take the money, and she could have done it for charity. Or at least a favor for her godfather. Check out her interview below.

Tell me, is this appropriate clothing for spending the day at a high school speaking to students? I suppose we should be grateful there are no cut-outs or midriff.
