INSPIRATION: Aspiring Actress Spends $1500 On Billboard In Hopes To Be Tyler Perry’s “Leading Lady” In His Next Film
Aspiring actress, 23-year-old Racquel Bailey, has gone above and beyond in order to make her dreams come true. The New Jersey native is determined to get media mogul, Tyler Perry's, attention so she paid $1500 for a billboard 2 miles from his studio.
Racquel spent her very last on the billboard which reads "Let Me Be Your Next Leading Lady" along with her photo and website.
"I hoped he would see it while he was driving to work, or on his way home from work, or that someone would see it!" Ms bailey told a ATL's NBC affiliate, adding, "My last money for the year!"
After visiting her website, I learned a little more about the Jersey-based actress and she has had a few roles during her journey to pursue her dreams of being an actress.
She has appeared on TV shows such as “Law and Order” and commercials for Top Chef Marcus Samuelson and many off-Broadway productions. A perfectionist in her craft and meticulous in her preparation for her many diverse roles, Racquel has turned out a string of highly acclaimed performances in the past years. Starting in plays such as Ma Rainy's Black Bottom, Cleopatra and William Shakespeare As you like it.
I have to give the girl credit, she is on a mission to make her dreams come true and it took a lot of guts for her to foot out her very last in an effort to catch Tyler Perry's attention. There are many people out here trying to get a break in the industry and she definitely understands what it means to set yourself apart from the rest. I'm sure her efforts won't go unnoticed with all the extra exposure she's gaining from news coverage, blog posts and the billboard alone. Her $1500 won't gone in vain you can believe that.
11 Alive contacted Racquel and chatted with her via Skype about her the billboard and here's what she had to say:
"All I want is a chance," Ms Bailey says. "I'm just waiting for that call."

You can tell she wants it BAD! Some people wouldn't even make themselves this vulnerable and for her to spend $1500 on the billboard speaks very loud and clear. Good luck to her!

Tons of effort but I see a lot of room for growth, and maybe this billboard will open that door. You can't base future opportunities by the amount of money you spend, $1500 is just a dent when your talking about money and the industry at the same time. Good Luck. Keep at it.
