As a child of a former cosmetologist, I am no stranger to hair. I had my hair permed for the first time at the tender age of 6. I even remember begging my mom to put a blonde streak in my bang while in elementary school. Throughout the years I’ve had many hair transformations--even at times where I would be unrecognizable at a distance to acquaintances. Around the time “Poetic Justice,” was release I had the Janet Jackson boxed braids; then later--flat twist, micro-braids, the short cut with the back shaved, bob, then on to my current obsession Weaves (aka) Extensions. My classmates and co-workers would be amazed at how often my look would go from long to short, dark to light, curtly to straight and so on. I would spend upwards of $60 bi-weekly purchasing hair then another $80+ having someone install it. Add those numbers up and I was WASTING well needed money. However, I was so hooked on enhancing my appearance I didn’t mind it as much. I felt real hair made you look “too regular”, and adding extensions gave you some flair and exoticness. However, once I started noticing the prices of store bought hair rising and the quality not improving I had a problem and I needed a solution! Then I was introduced to Virgin Hair.
