When it comes to healthy hair, it’s not just what you put on your tresses that count -- your diet matters, too. We all know what healthy hair looks like, it obvious; the shine, the glorious luscious soft locks that just beg to be touched.
What's the deal with protective styles? Many women with long hair swear by them. They insist that keeping their hair's ends up and out of sight helps them to retain precious length. The truth is; protective styles don't make your hair grow, but they do make it possible to prevent breakage since your hair may be breaking off faster than it grows. What protective styles do is keep your ends "protected." Try any of these protective styles and see if you experience more hair retention. Just make sure, no matter which way you wear your hair, that your ends are put away.
Manetane Beauty cares about hair growth and healthy hair.
Many women have chosen to incorporate protective styling into their hair care regimens. Rightfully so, as protecting the hair aids in retaining length. They also diminish the chances of breakage and stress on your natural strands. The less you manipulate your hair the more your hair will grow. Manetane Beauty provides you with the hair food, that is essential in the hair growth process. Keep in mind that less is best when dealing with hair growth. You don't want to always agitate the hair, but allow the hair to rest and grow to its full potential. We believe in our product and hope that with our openess to educate, you will trust our opinion to growing healthy beautiful hair.
Styles to Consider when protection is what you need
Bun or Chignon
This is a simple style that works for any occasion, especially dressy or formal ones. All you need are hairpins and a covered elastic band. Buns work on relaxed and natural hair with a relative amount of ease. You can part your hair down the center or on one side if you prefer
Two-Strand Twist
Twists work best on natural hair. Relaxed strands are simply too straight and slippery to hold twists in place without unraveling. They work for children and for adults. You can fashion twists in various ways while still protecting your delicate ends.
Braids
You can braid your natural hair or you can opt for braid extensions. Whether your braids are all yours or created with enhancements, you still need to care for your hair and scalp while you're wearing them
Flat Twist
Similar to cornrows, flat twists are created with two sections of hair instead of three. Flat twists offer more versatility because unlike two-strand twists, flat twists work equally well on relaxed or natural hair. If your hair extends past the nape of your neck, you can gather the ends of flat twists and fashion them into a ponytail or bun.
Weaves/ExtentionsThis is the style that allows you to "set it and forget it", meaning once the weave is applied you don't have to worry about manipulating your hair at all for at least 6 to 8 weeks! If practicing healthy hair care practices while wearing this style, can do wonders for growing your hair. Why, you ask? Providing that your mane has been braided underneath, your head is completely covered as there is no exposure. However, I recommend that you still shampoo, condition, and moisturize as normal. This ensures that the hair underneath is still being treated and cared for. While in this protective style you should oil scalp with Manetane Beauty's hair food twice a week to promote maximum growth. When considering weaves/extentions it's best to use the highest quality of hair to ensure that after it's installed, you don't have to pay to get it reinstalled because the quality of hair wasn't what you expected.
Manetane hair food (grease) is a product which contains 100% natural oils and herbs with Shea Butter used as a base. Petroleum isn’t used because it gives hair a heavier consistency. With Manetane hair food, you’re provided a product that uses fresh sage and rosemary with 8 essential natural oils such as Argan, Amla, Neem, and Jamaican Black Castor Oil, just to name a few. Our product can be used as grease or a hot oil treatment. Visit us today www.manetanebeauty.com

Comment by manetanebeauty on May 24, 2012 at 4:39pm Exactly Taneesha, healthy hair is very easy to spot, "Well moisturized, easy to comb through, silky (not stiff) and holds shine." Also the ends are trimmed and well kept :)

Comment by Taneesha L. on May 24, 2012 at 2:47pm My idea because I really don't know the definition of healthy hair is hair that does not shed or break off in globs i guess. I would assume if you are losing more than 100 or so strands of hair a day then this is a problem. Well moisturized, easy to comb through, silky (not stiff) and holds shine.
