I've always loved Lil' Wayne for his music ever since he first hit the scene with Cash Money. Not that his lyrics are always pleasing towards women, but for me it's all about the story he's telling.
With all the controversy surrounding Nicki Minaj and being dissed by Hot 97 DJ, Peter Rosenberg, it's nice to know that Wayne was the one responsible for standing up for Nicki not only has his artist but as a female. After Nicki called Lil' Wayne letting him know about the incident, he decided to pull the whole summer jam in her defense.
According to MTV News:
“That’s a female. First and foremost, Nicki Minaj is a female. I don’t know what anyone else believes, but I believe females deserve the ultimate respect at all times, no matter when or where or how.”
“As soon as she called me and told me she felt disrespected, I just declined everything. I pulled her from the show because . . . no person that works with me will be disrespected in my presence as long as I’m on this planet.”
I certainly have a new found respect for Wayne. He let the world know don't get it twisted. He might be a blunt-blowing, polo drawers showin', I don't give a lovely motherf*ck a*s n*gga, that wants to f*ck every girl in the world, but one thing he's going to do is RESPECT them.
Now that's SEXY!!!
