During the month of October, the Small Business Administration is offering a web chat series for women in honor of National Women’s Small Business Month. In today's economy women own about 30 percent of small business marketplace, compared to 5 percent in 1970. Women-owned businesses are recognized as one of the fastest growing segments of the small business community.

SBA officials will host a series of weekly web chats with the goal of; helping aspiring and established women business owners learn more about starting or expanding small businesses; gaining access to capital; and government contracting set-asides for women. Additionally, tips on business opportunities for young women will be discussed during the last webinar  in the series.
