The U.S. Treasury has announced it’s plans to replace Andrew Jackson with the face of a woman on the new $10 bill by 2020. 2020 will be the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. The Treasury wants the public to weigh in and share their picks on social media using the hashtag #TheNew10.
Parks, who helped spark the civil rights movement by refusing to give up her seat on a Montgomery, Alabama bus in 1955, was the woman of choice for Senators Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Donald Trump. They praised her for changing the nation.
Ultimately, the decision will be up to Treasury Secretary Jack Lew. However we are curious to know.. who would you choose to be the new face of 10 dollar bill, and why??
